Skyline New York

Wussup guysss!!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a minute to get to know me and my brand. My name is Ashley McRae, known to most as Ash. I was born and raised in New York City (Yes the big apple, the city that never sleeps lol ), specifically in East Harlem.

Since young I have always baked for family and friends, whether it was cupcakes for a friend's birthday or to have dessert at our family functions. I was the person everyone came to when they had a sweet tooth or needed something for a special event.

Starting at the age of 16, I worked at some of NYC's exceptional bakeries including Magnolia, Bouchon Bakery, & Veneiros. Working at these bakeries allowed me to experience what goes on behind the scenes in the kitchen. Being in the chef's kitchen, I’ve learned of many different cultures and their unique desserts such as French macarons, torta di mandorle, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and my absolute favorite - baklava. I've always been open and interested to learn about different baking techniques and making pastries of different cultures.

When we were all forced to stay home due to the pandemic, I used this bitter sweet opportunity to turn lemons into lemon meringue pie. I started to take baking more seriously and came to the realization that I really really LOVE to bake. It was at that moment I decided to start Inviting Delectables.

Why that name ? “Inviting” which means something that is attractive and has good qualities that makes you want to experience it (such as my desserts and cakes of course 😋) and "Delectables" because I'm more than just cakes. I offer cookies brownies chocolate covered strawberries and so much more!
